Academy of Art Illustrators

This is a moderated membership group for School of Illustration students at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, who are participating in the Pencils.com Freedom of Expression Project.

This project will help to bring to life our new Pencils.com site and will feature artists from the School of Illustration sharing what ‘freedom of self expression’ means to them. The project and artwork will be displayed on the new Pencils.com homepage and throughout the new site as the project unfolds over time. Selected participants will recieve feature artist panels on the new site.

Doodle Contest Archives

The Doodle Contest Archives present a number of the past winners of the Incense Cedarⁱ Institute's Pencil Doodle Contests. These contests presented some theme related to pencils such as:

- The Number 2 Pencil, Still Number 1 in a High Tech World
- My Cedar Pencil Travels Through Time
- A Day in the Life of the Cedar Pencil

The Doodle contests have now been revived as a monthly series of Teach & Learn contest that will provide Pencil Points to the monthly winners that can be redeemed for credits of pencil and other item purchases at the Pencils.com Store.

This group serves as the new internet home of the Ninth Wave Designs weblog. The Ninth Wave Designs blog is the creation of the most original and creative mind of Lisa Laughy who recently determined to take down her blog as she was no longer posting. Rather than lose such inspiration for good writing, journaling and artistic imagination we came to agreement to migrate most of the Ninth Wave Designs blog material to Pencils.com and are greatful to Lisa for her contribution and continuing inspiration.

It has come to my attention that there are many micheal jackson fans and underpriveleged pencils out there. Now, we need to help these people (but not the micheal jackson fans) or , if you must, pencils that do not get used enough and/or are broken purpousfully. This group will hopefully create awareness upon thetopic of underpriveleged pencil.
