The film won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and Best Director. Artists will work on developing illustration techniques inspired by the "drained, wintry look" of the western. The animated series follows ten year old Ben Tennyson who finds a device out in the woods called the Omnitrix, which allows him to turn into ten different aliens species. Throughout his summer vacation, travelling the country in the Rustbucket with his Grandpa Max and his cousin Gwen, Ben fights crime and evil aliens with his new powers, gaining the ability to turn into more aliens along the way.

Using the films Ratitouille, The Incredibles, and the Iron Giant as reference, art students will be shown a variety of illustration techniques as drawn in a how-to format. By the end of quarter each artist will come away with skills including guidelines for drawing human and fictional characters, drawing characters with action,and compositional storytelling rules.
